About Ben

The Best of the Midwest

Ben is passionate about solving hard problems with effective team members.

His first job out of college was managing a factory floor of high pressure fuel line assemblies at a woman led aerospace manufacturing company.

The close bonds formed along with the freedom to be curious, solve issues and stand up for his co-workers taught him how to get the most out of a team.

After moving to other successful companies that specialize in other areas, like logistics and retail, Ben is ready to finish what he started at Franklin Brazing with his new knowledge and relentless pursuit of an elegant solution waiting to be discovered

Ben is no stranger to startups, he loves pressure and tightly-knit teams

This is his 4th rodeo.

His latest venture is a passion project resurrecting film processing and development.

Frustrated at inconsistency in delivery, processing quality, and hundreds of friends asking him to do their film, it was time.

in Dec 2024, The gloves came off and Velocity Film Lab was born, a film processing company that uses Ai to improve film processing quality, employee experience and customer satisfaction, without betraying the artistic integrity that is at the soul of the film medium.

After a geometric explosion in growth, Ben needed help collecting film from all corners of his state.

Enter Velocity Labs.

After years of experience handling industrial processes, Ben understands aerospace manufacturing is an art of its own.

He wants to bring the same winning formula he learned at Apple to integrate the best aspects of emerging technologies to bring the art of aerospace to the modern day.

Meeting requirements to produce high quality components at scale for the future.

Interests and hobbies

Ben has always been passionate about anything he sets his mind to. Ben enjoys photography, bodybuilding and tinkering/ upgrading with retro electronics.

Last year he bought himself an SLA printer and created a bluetooth back for his iPod Classic, complete with an aero-grid just like high performance rockets to increase stiffness and resilience. Although he decided against mass-production due to market size, he is happy to see he was not alone in the merits of the idea and will be purchasing a moonlit market back for his iPod. He will once again pick-up and improve it yet again with better input and streaming hopefully in 2026
